Tenuta di Cosa

A unique jewel in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma

The estate

Originally, at the behest of Giorgio Sanfelice di Monteforte, a business center was built in 2007 to house the farmer on the upper floor and warehouses with offices to take care of oil production on the ground floor. Hence the name that was used in the family of “Il Frantoio“.

In 2020, the conversion work to farm was completed by his son Antonio who thus created La Tenuta di Cosa, named after the Roman city whose walls and ruins overlook the property.

The villa is divided into two apartments, one on the ground floor which has kept the name of Frantoio and one on the upper floor called Il Solengo as it is not unusual to spot wild boars and other game in the distance from its terrace.

Tenuta di Cosa is surrounded by an enclosed garden of one hectare, with a 15m by 5m salt water swimming pool, barbecue and verandas where you can have meals and overlooks a well-kept 10-hectare olive grove. Around there are other 90 hectares of cultivated fields and woods where you can walk, with the possibility of directly accessing the remains of the city of Cosa through the “Porta Romana“.

The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning, wi-fi, Sky and digital terrestrial.

Il Frantoio

Large windows and english lawn to make every moment of your stay in the Tuscan Maremma unique.

Il Solengo

Spacious apartment and aromas of lemon, rosemary and laurel, to give the right scent to your stay.

The territory

History and nature come together in Ansedonia, the small promontory overlooking the sea, on the southern edge of the splendid Orbetello lagoon, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma.
Connected to Monte Argentario by a sandy strip, today Ansedonia, once an Etruscan center called “Cosa“, is a place of great tourist and historical-cultural interest.

It is possible to admire and spend time on the wonderful beaches of its promontory, one facing the Monte Argentario and the other towards the Capalbio area, while exploring the archaeological sites of the Ansedonia Towers, the Tagliata Etrusca, the Spacco della Regina and the vast archaeological area of Cosa.
